Integration of 3 Operating Rooms in the Bellvitge Hospital
Bellvitge University Hospital is a reference center for the southern axis of Catalonia, located near the municipalities of Barcelona, l’Hospitalet, and El Prat de Llobregat. It develops activities in the field of assistance, research, and teaching, and has a total of 45 medical and surgical specialties.
Once again, Ditec Medical has installed the ORisTIC system, the latest technology digital operating room integration solution based on a fiber optic IP network and using Barco’s Nexxis system. This time, the solution has been implemented in 3 operating rooms of Bellvitge Hospital in the digestive and respiratory endoscopy unit, where through the web application platform and touch panel, the user is offered centralized control of the operating room audiovisual equipment and access to different functionalities of the system in a simple way.
In this case, the 3 operating rooms are connected by videoconference with a training room so that doctors in training can follow the live operations of the specialist doctors, being able to communicate both in video and sound with them. In addition, multipoint sessions can be held between the three operating rooms, the training room, and other spaces such as medical or diagnostic offices.
Finally, the operating rooms are also connected to the multimedia production room of the hospital’s audiovisual department, where they can record and edit content for later use.
