The Pompeu Fabra BSM faculty, which already had training classrooms with audiovisual systems, has reinvented its classes so that they continue to work collaboratively, combining face-to-face and online classes with platforms such as ZOOM, MS TEAMS, and GOOGLE MEET.

The faculty classrooms of Pompeu Fabra - Barcelona School of Management are transformed into Hybrid Spaces
The Ditec Communications project department was commissioned to design a solution based on the requirements for a hybrid classroom: collaboration and two-way communication between different spaces.
The audio system consists of a DANTE network with SHURE MXA710 and MXA910 array microphones, and MXN5C loudspeakers from the same manufacturer. Everything is managed by a SHURE P300 audio processor with USB output, and a NETGEAR LAN switch with PoE power. The microphone system, integrated into the ceiling of the classroom, allows a perfect and intelligible capture of the voice of both the teacher and the students and offers complete freedom of movement. The audio that is received from students not present in the class is broadcasted through the speakers.
The video system has 55″ and 65″ SAMSUNG LED 4K monitors, where you can see the students connected remotely, and the existing projectors show the content that the teacher projects in the classroom. The management of the different video sources is done through a 4×4 HDMI matrix.
Regarding image capture, of great importance in this type of classroom, three types of USB cameras are integrated, with different characteristics, depending on the needs of each class:
– AVER PTC500S: 30x robotic FHD camera with automatic tracking and PTZ movement. This is for classrooms that require monitoring of the speaker.
– AVER CAM520 Pro PoE: 18x robotic FHD camera with PoE power and PTZ movement. This is for classrooms that require camera movement, but in which automatic monitoring of the teacher is not necessary.
– AVERCAM340+: 4K camera for small classrooms that only require a fixed image.
Obeying a premise established by the University, the first two cameras can be managed remotely via IP and are integrated into the internal IT network to be able to manage the cameras’ internal configuration, as well as view the live image and manipulate the PTZ movement.
All of the installed audiovisual solutions are designed to be integrated with the room PC and to hold video conferences through any platform, using and taking advantage of all the classroom resources.
